We heard today that we are too anti-competitive to go ahead - so the whole project has been stopped. It is a bit of a shame as it was 18 months hard work and it was basically ready to go. I can't really add anything to the official statement other that to say we are all disappointed.
Along the way we promised to give credit to a number of people / projects who make this project possible.
Obviously I most have to thank the development team and the business team who worked on the project and made it such an interesting place to work for the last 18th months.
Key Technologies
- Jetty - We made an early decision to switch to Jetty - backed by Webtide support and have never looked back. The Webtide team (as I have blogged about before) have provided us top grade support.
- Tapestry 5 - We switch mid flight from Struts 1.x, Spring Web Flow and Tiles to Tapestry 5. This conversion has been a excellent success. This let us add a range of complex web 2.0 features to our site. I would definitely use this again for the productivity benefits it provided.

Hm. I may have to dial back the power of Tapestry 5 if it's going to make everybody's apps "too good".
I'm really sorry to hear this, I was looking forward to using your site as a reference for high throughput Tapestry.
What's next?
